Note:   "On 8 mo. 15, 1719, a double wedding took place at the house of JonasPotts, at which two of his daughters were married. In one of theCertificates, Jonas Potts is said to be of Gilberts Manor, and in theother, of Perqueoman Creek. It is said that after the festivities of thisdouble wedding, the newly married young couples left for their respectivehomes on horseback, each bride mounted behind her husband."

Note:   "He removed to Loudoun County, Virginia, where he purchased 270 acresfrom David Potts, his half brother, as it appears on the deed dated, May8, 1759. Jonas is discribed as "smith" in the deed. On August 20, 1761,Jonas Potts obtained a patent from "the Proprietors office of thenorthern neck of Virginia," for a tract of land on or about Round Hill.How long Jonas Potts continued to live in Loudoun County is not clear. Heand all his children seemed to have removed to western Pennsylvania oreastern Ohio before the close of the century, or shortly after. Hisdescendants say that Jonas Potts settled at Georgetown, Beaver County,Pennsylvania, where he died at a great age."
