Death place: Family record for James Silas Thomas (1835) & Sarah Ann Gee submitted by Margaret Lee Owen Ray shows the information on that record was obtained from Alice Sarah Thomas Davis of Ballinger,Runnels,TX who sent the record to Willie Mae Owen of National City, San Diego, CA, who copied the record and sent it to Margaret Lee Owen Ray of AZ in 1937. This record shows James Silas Thomas'married, death, & burial places all as 'Flora',,Texas. Also, Sarah Ann Gee's death & burial places are shown as 'Flora',,Texas. As of this date, 9 Dec 1999, we have not located 'Flora' on any TX maps. However, we did locate a 'Florey', in Andrews county, Texas (in west TX, near Midland). All James' & Sarah's children were born in the northeastern part of TX in Mt. Pleasant,Titus Co. (ch.#7 born Weaver,Hopkins Co.) which is where we initially looked for 'Flora' w/o success. If, with further research, 'Flora' is identified as being 'Florey', we can only surmise at this time why the family (or at least James & Sarah) ended up in west TX sometime before their deaths.
